About Peravali Foods – The Story of Purity, Passion & Purpose

Our Story

Peravali Foods was born from a simple kitchen in Guntur, where a mother’s love for traditional Andhra flavours blossomed into a passion shared with millions. That mother is Kanaka Durga, fondly known as Bujjamma or Peravali Sister because Peravali is her maiden name. Long before we became a brand, she spent her afternoons making authentic Andhra pickles and snacks for family and friends. Her recipes, inspired by her own mother and the fiery chillies of Guntur, were prepared with care: hand–ground spices, sun-dried ingredients and zero preservatives.

Seeking a way to document and share this culinary heritage, Bujjamma launched a YouTube channel. In her warm greeting – “Hii friends… Welcome to my channel” she invited viewers into her home to learn not only how to cook but also practical kitchen tips, simple Ayurveda remedies and glimpses of her lifestyle. ” The response was overwhelming. People across the world wrote back saying her videos helped them recreate the taste of home and reconnect with their roots. Requests poured in for ready-made pickles and spice blends.

With a heart full of gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose, she decided to turn her culinary passion into a small-batch enterprise. Thus, Peravali Foods was born a bridge between home-cooked tradition and modern kitchens that grew out of a YouTube community. Today, our recipes still begin in that same Guntur kitchen, but they reach far beyond our town thanks to the support of friends and followers who first met us online.

The Heart Behind Peravali

The name “Peravali” means big wave, signifying how a single woman’s effort can ripple out to touch countless lives. Our founder, Kanaka Durga (Bujjamma), not only created recipes but also a community. Peravali is proudly a women-led business that supports local women – from hiring mothers in our neighbourhood to mentoring young entrepreneurs who wish to preserve culinary heritage. Over 95 % of our team consists of women who bring their own stories, skills and warmth to every jar and packet. We believe that empowerment begins at home. By employing and training women from nearby villages, we provide them with financial independence and an opportunity to take pride in their cultural knowledge. This sense of sisterhood and mutual support infuses every product we make.

Our Philosophy

Purity and authenticity guide everything we do. We source our chillies, mustard  seeds and tamarind directly from farmers around Guntur to ensure that each ingredient is fresh and of superior quality. Every Peravali product is:

  • Hand-crafted in small batches – No large factories or industrial shortcuts.
  • Free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives – We rely on traditional methods to preserve and enhance flavour.
  • Rooted in original Telugu recipes – Each pickle or spice blend is prepared the way our mothers and grandmothers made them.
  • Certified for safety and quality – Our facility is FSSAI certified and follows strict hygiene practices so you can trust every spoonful.

We are committed to sustainable packaging and responsible sourcing. Our glass jars and minimal plastic use ensure that the taste of Andhra comes to you without harming the planet.

From Our Guntur Kitchen to Global Tables

From a small kitchen in Guntur to homes across the globe, our journey has been humbling and heartwarming. What began as love from our YouTube family soon grew into a community that wanted to taste those same flavours. Today, Peravali products  travel from our Guntur kitchen to families across India, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America — carrying not just authentic Andhra taste but also the warmth of the hands that prepare them.

Even as we grow, our roots remain strong. We continue sharing recipes, farming stories, and glimpses of our process with our ever growing Peravali family online. When you choose Peravali, you aren’t just buying a pickle or snack — you’re supporting local farmers, artisans, and women entrepreneurs who bring this tradition to life.  At Peravali Foods, we promise to preserve the true taste of Andhra while upholding honesty, quality, and community in everything we do. From our home to yours, we  carry Guntur’s fiery spirit and a jar full of love.
